Subject	Got a ? about ported/polished manifolds (dial-up run)

Message	I just received these from a well known Z shop. I dropped $400 to have these "ported & polished". Now I'm not sure what I really expected, but this isn't exactly it... now I haven't seen ported manifolds in person... but I wanted to post photos and ask opinions. How well are these done? Did I get my money's worth? Did I get ripped? Should I send them back and request they be redone? I didn't rush the shop, they actually had them for a few weeks... told them to take their time. I just got them today, and just snapped the photos. Basically just pulled them outta the box... please let me know what you think... on to the photos... Well I guess I expected everything I'd "see" to be nice and polished... no black and/or rusty areas. I mean not to be a smart ass, but I think with enough time, I could have done better myself with a Dremel. I had a shop do them, cuz I expected a "little" higher quality. Am I making too much of this? Did I get what I paid for? I had them dropped shipped to the shop on the 20th of June. Due to some miscommunication, they didn't know whose they were, but started on them after things were cleared up on the 10th of July. They had them finished and shipped earlier this week (hence they arrived today). Now I'm not going to name names, as depending on your responses I'm going to get back in touch with them and see what they have to say about it... I just wanted to ask you all first, as I'm unfamiliar with how "Ported and Polished" should look... Thx in advance.... Sorry for the crap photos... I tried to get them as clear as possible. Some are blurry but get the point across.... Most of the polishing is JUST at the very ends of the manifold... once you get inside at all, the polishing is none existant... I know you can only get tools in but so far... but some of these areas are REALLY rough.... sigh... guess I was just expecting too much. I mean I can have my block bored out for $180... heads milled for $40 a piece... for $400, I expected a little more care and quality on the manifolds... I mean yeah, it looks like they'll flow a little better at the ends of the manifold. How much would it have been to extrude hone these???
